"Douglas Laing & Co was established in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing, affectionately known by those in the trade as FDL. Today, many decades later, Douglas Laing remains a proudly family-owned business.Only today it's headed by FDL's son - also Fred - and his granddaughter, Cara. Together, they bring you Douglas Laing's Old Particular; a "particularly" sought afterrange of individually - selected and specialist Scotch Whiskies from all over Scotland - each bottled the FDL way.

Like the first generation of the Douglas Laing family, the second and third want you to experience these fine aged Whiskies exactly as the distiller intended. To us, this means not adding any colouring nor chill filtering our spirit, but instead "leaving it well alone" and allowing the naturally present oils and enzymes in the whisky to make their own special contribution to its nose, mounthfeel, palate and finish. The result is as close as most come to experiencing that rarest of pleasure - savouring a dram straight from its cask in the hallowed surroundings of a distillery warehouse."
