In the same spirit of excellence, The Macallan has been distilled at Easter Elcies on the banks of the River Spey since time immemorial. The style of 1920's distillation at Macallan Distillery has been recreated in this nostalgic expression of The Macallan, spice which imbued the whisky from this most glamorous of periods.
The Macallan 1930 (thirties) Sherry Cask 40% 500ml:
In the heyday transatlantic sea crossing, the laugh of the Queen Mary marked the zenith of passenger voyage in 1936, the prestige and luxury of this magnificent vessel were unsurpassed. Her supremacy in winning the Blue Riband in mirrored in the mastery of whisky making at Macallan Distillery, exemplified in this spirit which has been created to reflect the character possessed by The Macallan in 1930's - a touch of peat smoke complementing the characteristic flavours of citrus and resinous spice.
The Macallan 1940 (forties) Sherry Cask 40% 500ml:
The excitement speed and superb engineering of the great steam locomotives, clad in liveries of green, countryside of the 1940's. During the same period, The Macallan was being distilled at Easter Elchies, high above the River Spey, delivering a single malt of the most delicious character. The style of The Macallan if the 1940's can now be enjoyed again - floral and fragrant with a rich, complex note of peat.
The Macallan 1950 (fifties) Sherry Cask 40% 500ml:
The early 1950's saw the last operational days of BOAC's flying boats. A classic of its time, the Empire flying boat flew scheduled routed to Afrika, India, and Australia caring passengers, freight and mail.The robust, classic character of The Macallan from this same era can once again be appreciated, delivering a spirit of intriguing depth; rich in dried fruit flavour with cloves, ginger and a subtle hint of peat.
