"Only the finest casks of The Balvenie are considered by Malt Master David Stewart for inclusion in Tun 1401. A selection of five traditional whisky casks and four sherry butts - some of the rarest treasures from The Balvenie Distillery's Warehouse 24 - have been skilfully married together and left to rest for several months to create a single malt enhances it’s already precious parts. This unique and unrepeatable small batch of Tun 1401 is characterised by sweetness, spiciness and oak.

Tun 1401 is The Balvenie's traditional oak marrying vessel and is cared for by the distillery's onsite team of coopers.
The fifth batch to have rested within brings a profusion of fragrant honey and spices. The taste is a velvety smooth balance between sweetness and oak tannin, underpinned by ginger spiciness. The finish is rich, sweet and spicy."
