Created to honour the heroic act of saving Scotland’s King Alexander III in 1263, this extraordinary single malt embodies courage, heritage and mastery.
The Dalmore King Alexander III is the world’s first single malt matured in six different cask types as French wine, Madeira, Sherry, Marsala, Kentucky Bourbon and Port. The result is a whisky of remarkable depth and complexity, revealing layers of dark chocolate, stewed fruits, roasted coffee and spice.
Rich, regal and unforgettable. A masterpiece crafted for those who appreciate whisky as an art form.
In 1263 the ancestor of Clan Mackenzie saved King Alexander III from being gored by a stag with a single arrow. The grateful King granted him the right to bed a stag's head in his coat of arms. With the motto "Help the King' (Cuidich 'N Rich, in the Gaelic language).
The Dalmore Distillery was long owned by the Mackenzie Family, and every bottle of the Dalmore is adorned with this noble emblem: a Stag's Head, with twelve points to its antlers, signifying a 'royal'.
