Four decades of extraordinary complexity
Bottled at 45.7% ABV, this rare Speyside Single Malt reveals a beautifully mature and deeply layered character.
The nose unfolds with dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and ripe black cherries, accompanied by delicate waves of wood smoke, polished leather and cloves.
On the palate it is luxuriously full and silky, developing through rich fruitcake, dates, raisins and stewed apple before revealing mature oak, bitter chocolate and subtle touches of peat.
The finish is wonderfully complex, elegant and exceptionally long-lasting – exactly what one would expect from a whisky shaped over four remarkable decades.
Time transformed into art
Even the presentation of Cumulative Time reflects the philosophy behind the whisky.
The crystal decanter is housed within a spectacular sculptural jesmonite case, designed to evoke geological strata formed gradually through the accumulation of time.
Deep grooves reveal contrasting veins running through the stone-like material, referencing two instantly recognisable elements of Glenfiddich: the distinctive green glass associated with its iconic bottle and the gleaming copper of the stills used to create its spirit.
The result is more than luxury packaging. It is a physical interpretation of the whisky itself – layers of time made tangible.
The pioneering spirit of Glenfiddich
Glenfiddich’s story began in Dufftown in 1887, when William Grant fulfilled his ambition to create what he called the finest dram in the valley. Together with his seven sons and two daughters, he built the distillery by hand, stone by stone.
He named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer.
More than a century later, Glenfiddich remains one of the relatively few major Single Malt Scotch whisky distilleries to be entirely family-owned, with William Grant’s pioneering philosophy continuing through successive generations.
That willingness to challenge convention is perfectly embodied by Cumulative Time.
