"Glengoyne Distillery was first licensed in 1833 to a local farmer, George Connel, who paid the princely sum of £8.00 for the licence. Over the next 165 years, time moved slowly at Glengoyne, with the distillation process remaining basically unchanged to produce the unique unpeated spirit. To the best of my knowledge there have only been six distillery managers during this time.

On the 22nd of June 1998 I retire after 19 years in charge. To commemorate my retiral I have chosen a very special example of Glengoyne which was distilled in the winter of 1969 and is released as a limited edition of only 204 bottles in the unique Glengoyne solid brass replica spirit safe. With its dark chestnut colour and full bodied rich nose this whisky is a mix of fruit, spice and raisins on the palate and is an unusually interesting example of Scotland's Unpeated Malt.
