Although our creation is known throughout the world, the Glenmorangie Distillery is still one of the smallest in the Highlands, employing a more sixteen people, several of whose fathers and grandfathers worked here before them.

In the old days whisky was sold at full strength - around 100° proof spirit (57.2% alcohol) - and water added to taste. This was only changed in 1916, by an unpopular government body called the Central Control Board. Now it is again permissible to bottle at full strength - and therefore possible to savour Glenmorangie as it was enjoyed by our forbears."
