"Chieftain's single malt whiskies are bottled at natural colour and without chill-filtration. The whisky colour comes from the tannins released by the oak casks during the years of slow maturation. We use a wide variety of different sherry, bourbon, port and rum.

Our single malts do not undergo chill-filtration prior to bottling; therefore, they may go cloudy in cold weather, or when water or ice is added.
the cloudiness will clear at room temperature. Exceptionally, a light haze may remain. This does not affect the taste or quality of the whisky.
On the contrary, it makes for a smoother, richer, and more fully flavoured malt."
